The Affirmations Barrier

Most users of affirmations are unaware that their mind may be rejecting their affirmations instead of absorbing them. The typical use of affirmations as most understand ranges widely from sticky post-it notes, to recitals in a mirror to one’s self, affirmation cards, software and a world of other options. The primary problem with all these options is the conscious mind. In order to use affirmations in these manners, it requires conscious waking activity. Our conscious mind possesses the ability to reject anything it deems to be untrue, this is where the problem for many lies and is why so many feel that affirmations are ineffective. MakingAffirmations Bypass the Conscious MindIn order to make your affirmations work effectively, you need to bypass the conscious minds ability to reject your affirmation. This is easily done at night. For those that do not know about the brain and how our minds work, the conscious mind submerges at night when you sleep. Of course there are ways to enter a subconscious mind state without this but in our busy world today that can be a trying task. When you sleep at night, you are automatically entering into a subconscious mind state while the conscious mind is at rest. Your subconscious mind is your dominant mind and is actually more active at night than it is during the day. Our subconscious mind controls the functions of our body like our heartbeat, our breathing, our digestive system. During this nighttime stage, it is also open to programming and receiving input in the form of affirmations. Nightly Affirmations are More EffectiveBecause the subconscious mind is most active at night, it is easy to program your positive affirmations directly to the subconscious mind without any conscious mind rejection. The subconscious mind does not have the ability to reject information; it will accept anything and everything you give it as a truthful and positive statement. It does not have the ability to reject it. When you program your affirmations throughout the night, the subconscious mind accepts this information directly and stores it into your memory. The conscious mind now has new information in which to base its opinions on when the time is needed. In an example, if you were having problems with post-traumatic stress disorder, you could use affirmations to reverse the thoughts that you are having trouble with. Those thoughts could be a soldier’s return home from service where he or she was involved in active battle. These thoughts can follow the soldier home and make their life a living hell. By using affirmations to program more positive, stress relieving thoughts into the subconscious mind those thoughts can be overwritten with new thoughts that support a stronger mind, stress free life, and continued happiness. Methods for Nightly Affirmations UseThere are a few methods in which you can use nightly affirmations. Pre-recorded affirmation CD’s have been used by many and some have resorted to recording their own affirmation CD’s using today’s technology. Probably the most simplistic method of recording and playback is an actual affirmation device called the ThoughtDr. The ThoughtDr allows the user to record their own affirmations directly to the device in their own voice, that’s very powerful. Depending on the settings, the ThoughtDr will play those affirmations back throughout the night in repetition up to 4000 times or more. The best part is the included hibernation sessions that allow your brain to continue its normal function without continuous input which may slow your progress and also leave you unrested in the morning due to the continuous input activity. The ThoughtDr is a powerful tool for affirmation user’s and has finally taken affirmation use to a new level of advanced affirmations.
